Membership

The first meeting of the Church was held on the 27th May, 1900, in the basement room of the building, which used to house the Co-op in Victoria Road. Subsequently in 1902 we moved to a small hall on South Esplanade West, and then on the 13th Oct 1928, moved to our present building at 107 Victoria Road.

We are an independent church and our affairs are administered by a number of elders.

We are not governed by any central organisation. However, we work closely with other churches in a number of areas.

The criteria for becoming a member of the local church at Victoria Gospel Hall is that one must have accepted JESUS CHRIST as Saviour and Lord and agree with our statement of faith.

The process of membership involves three steps:-

Let one of the elders know of you desire to become a member.

Two of the elders will visit you to answer your questions and assist you in your understanding the privileges and responsibility of being a member.

At your request the elders will recommend your membership to the fellow believers at Victoria Gospel Hall.
